More Cross-Chain News that are unrelated to WH Let's get into it! 🛸 Introducing the Wormhole Foundation We are thrilled to officially introduce the Wormhole Foundation ( @WormholeFdn ) as a core contributor to Wormhole. The Wormhole Foundation's focus is to support teams building secure, open-source, and decentralized products within the Wormhole ecosystem. Wormhole is supported by a set of core contributing organizations aimed at building a decentralized internet where information can move freely and securely, everywhere. ⛓️ Base is here Bridgers and builders can now onboard to and from @BuildOnBase from any of Wormhole’s 20+ connected chains. Base is an Ethereum Layer 2 (L2) network, built by Coinbase, that’s goal is to offer a secure, low-cost, developer-friendly way for anyone, anywhere, to build decentralized apps on-chain. Coinbase’s hope with Base is, “to make on-chain the next online” and onboard one billion users into the cryptoeconomy. If you’re interested in connecting your application to Base or simply want to bridge tokens to or from Base, you can easily do so using Wormhole. ✨ Wormhole Gateway is live After last month's announcement at Osmocon (tweet), August 31 marks the official launch of Wormhole Gateway. Gateway is an application-specific blockchain powered by the Cosmos SDK. Wombat is launching their cross-chain swap feature, enabling users to swap between native assets on different chains using Wombat’s cross-chain pools. This feature uses Wormhole Relayers in order to facilitate cross-chain messages to be sent securely and seamlessly.
